UK-Japan Music Society
UK-Japan Music Society’s Christmas Concert
The UK-Japan Music Society was founded by Jonathan Gregory, a former Cathedral Organist, in September 1992, with the support from the Embassy of Japan, the Japanese business community in London and the British government.
The UK-Japan Music Society presents high standard concerts and recitals of British, European and Japanese music, to promote friendship and mutual understanding of Japanese and British people and others who appreciate the aims of the Society and culture through music, in prestigious venues in and around London, as well as overseas.
The UK-Japan Choir consists of Japanese and British / non-British singers from London, Cambridge and Leicestershire areas, and in 2017 the UK-Japan Consort was launched to support young musicians (both singers and instrumentalists) from Japan and UK / non UK, in their early careers in Japan, UK and Europe.

日英音楽協会について
日英音楽協会は、１９９１年に英国全土で開催された「ジャパン・フェスティバル１９９１」の後、在英国日本国大使館、在ロンドン日本ビジネス・コミュニティー及び英国政府のサポートを得て、１９９２年にジョナサン・グレゴリー（元英国大聖堂音楽監督＆オルガニスト）によって創設されました。
日英音楽協会は、日本人音楽家と英国人音楽家、他が一体となり、音楽を通じて文化交流および相互理解を深めることを目的に、ロンドン、ケンブリッジ、レスター、ロンドン郊外や海外で、これまで高い水準で英国、西洋と日本の音楽を演奏してきました。日英合唱団は、ロンドン、ケンブリッジやレスタシャ―他に在住の日本人と英国人他の国の人々で構成され、２０１７年に若手音楽家（声楽家と器楽家）をサポートするために日英コンソートを立ち上げました。

The UK-Japan Choir consists of Japanese and British / non-British singers from London, Cambridge and Leicestershire areas. Performances include Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, St John and St Matthew Passions, Cantatas, Magnificat, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Maria Teresa Mass, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, music of Purcell, Tallis, Byrd, Britten, Rutter, Vivaldi, Mozart, Faure, others, as well as modern, contemporary and traditional Japanese choral and instrumental music.
日英合唱団について
日英合唱団は日本人と英国人が一体となり音楽を通じて文化交流を深めることを目的に、1992年9月に日英音楽協会発足と同時にジョナサン・グレゴリーによって設立されました。合唱団員は主にロンドン周辺に住む日本企業駐在員及び英国在住日本人とその家族、音楽大学生を含む留学生、そしてロンドン、ケンブリッジ、レスター周辺で音楽活動を行っている英国人他、併せ50名ほどのメンバーによって構成されています。

UK-Japan Consort
In December 2017 the UK-Japan Consort was launched, which is a group of young professional musicians including outstanding conservatoire students – singers and instrumentalists, in order to give support and promote young musicians in their early careers in Japan, UK and non UK.
日英コンソートについて
日英コンソートは、2017年秋創設25周年記念年に、新しいイニシアティブとして、日英若手音楽家達（プロフェッショナルな若手、およびプロを目指す優秀な音大生声楽家および器楽家）をサポートするために設置されました。
Currently we are recruiting new Consort members, who are professional young musicians, both singers and instrumentalists. If you are interested, please contact us for audition details by using the Contact Page.
日英コンソートは、只今若手プロ演奏家（歌手、楽器演奏共）を募集しています。オーディションご希望の方は、出身音大名、卒業年度、演奏略歴、演奏音源の送付、コンクール等受賞者は、コンクール窓口連絡先、日英音楽協会の情報をどこで入手したのかお知らせください。場合によっては、指導教授の推薦状が必要となります。お問い合わせはコンタクトページからご連絡ください。

Performances We played Handel’s Messiah at our first performance in London and Cambridge in December 1992. Since then music we performed include the following:
- JS Bach St Matthew and St John Passions, Christmas Oratorio, Cantatas, B Minor Mass, Magnificat, others
- Handel Messiah, Mozart, Haydn, Byrd, Purcell, Britten, Elgar, Berlioz, Faure, Monteverdi, Vivaldi, others
- Japanese songs and choral works by Takemitsu, Kasamatsu, Takechi, Nakada, Terashima, Genda, Okano, Takada, others
- John Rutter, commissioned works, others
